Our Story...

Paul & Vanya are both Naturopaths with over 29 years of experience between them. They decided to turn their life partnership into a business partnership due to their passion in alternative health and this is from where Our Apothecary arose.

At Our Apothecary, on offer are a range of health products such as organic teas, herbal medicines, medicinal mushrooms, local honey and more, and Naturopathic consultation.

As a client you are able to choose from either a feminine or masculine presence, so you feel completely comfortable in your journey.

We are available by appointment on Thursdays, Saturdays and outside of regular apothecary open hours and are ready to walk alongside you as you begin your own wellness journey with our knowledge and support.

  • Hiya, I’m Vanya a Naturopath who is extremely passionate about healing through nature.

    I am a mother of four and even when I was a young mum of 22 I only sought to use natural therapies, as this was how my parents had raised me. You could say using nature cure is engrained within me.

    I graduated in 2014 with the ‘Excellence in Clinic’ award and am currently studying Traditional Chinese Medicine. I have also recently completed ‘Advanced Physical Iridology’, recognized worldwide as one of the highest standards of physical Iridology trainings available, and this is where my biggest passion lies. Iridology is actually what drove me to study Naturopathy in the first place, as I truly believe the eyes are the window to the soul, and so much more.

    Since graduating, I’ve been an account manager/sales rep with Perths’ largest health distribution company for 8 years, working with health food and pharmacy, so my knowledge of health products is pretty awesome.

    In my personal life I have also achieved a 1st dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a 3rd dan in freestyle Tae Kwon Do. I believe that my keen interest in sports nutrition and preventative health helped me to attain these.

    I believe the ‘proof is always in the pudding!

  • Hi, my name is Paul. I have a passion for natural health, and very much for men’s health and mental health.

    My journey into Naturopathy arose from a keen interest in herbal medicine, being lost in direction of life and dealing with mental health concerns. Studying Naturopathy set me onto a path to remedy what ailed me and gave me inspiration to want to make this available to others who were going through what I had.

    I decided in my first year of study that I wanted to specialize in mental health and being community orientated wanted to offer this as a community service. I focused my dissertation in this area, the title being “Complementary Therapies in the Mental Health Sector”. This led me to also completing a qualification in Community Services, which enabled me to find employment in this sector. First as a Drug and Alcohol Youth Outreach Officer for 3 years, then as a Naturopath at a Drug and Alcohol Youth Service for 13 years.

    My role here was to co-ordinate the Complementary therapies program, teach yoga, meditation and nutrition, conduct flower essence consultations and co-ordinate Reiki volunteers. I was also able to implement a Naturopathic program, which ran successfully for 7 years prescribing Naturopathic medicine alongside mainstream medicine. Over 2000 young people with a history of addictions and mental health concerns received benefit from this program.

    Over this time, I also lectured at a college for 7 years in herbal medicine, supervised student clinics at two colleges, worked in Health food and consulted privately.
